Writing a Book is Like Losing Weight.

You know when it's time to start. It begins with a dream, an inner desire.

Determine the destination by writing a storyline - "How will my life be when I no longer carry this extra weight?"

Now begins the work:

Of organization.

Planning.

Discarding - (habits, etc.)

Of overcoming resistance - to change or applying effort.

Of forging ahead when it feels like you are getting nowhere.

Achieving any goal requires vision and effort.

Losing weight is like writing a book because we often set deadlines and goals that get missed. Another quarter of the year passes and we have not achieved the weight or accomplished what we set out to do. We get distracted, or have to tend to the business of life. We become discouraged, tired, and feel we have bitten off more than we can chew!

This is what happened on my weight-loss journey - all of the above.

What about you?

This also relates to writing the book: New Shoes, A Journey of Self-Discovery. Transformational Weight Management, Step By Step

Current Status of Book: being formatted for Kindle, Hardcopy and Audible.com. I have decided to record the book using my own voice. The goal post has moved again!

What I am re-learning is that it does not matter when we arrive at the finish line; what matters is that you and I keep pursuing our goals and dreams. Even in the midst of a global pandemic.

Post Easter, 2021, starts my on-line Spring Course in transformational weight management. Details about what makes it different than other weight-loss programs will be forthcoming soon.

Now, for me, it's back to working on the book having deliberately scheduled in time today to devote to it. I encourage you to reread this blog for nuggets of 'success truths'.

What is one thing you can begin to do today to move you in the direction of your goals and dreams?
